There is no "typical" day at this magical place, except that you should expect the unexpected…from a perfect white rose on your napkin to a pair of duck eggs nestled in the corner of a wagon seat outside. It is not uncommon to be greeted at Deerpark's entrance by a herd of Whitetail Deer, or to rise in the morning to the sound of wild turkeys or mallards and Canadian geese swimming on stocked ponds. During summer, lilies nod in the sun and the grass whispers. Winter brings crackling fireplaces and cozy quilts. And in all seasons, candlelight brightens windows and tables, evoking the warmth of newfound friendships.
Books are tucked everywhere, and guests are invited to browse through the shelves of the library. Additional diversions are hiking the trails or fishing Deerpark's spring-fed ponds, board games on the hearth, murder mystery dinners, croquet, attending special workshops or simply enjoying the hammock, rocking chairs and wicker.
Deerpark is perfectly located. Enjoying fairs and festivals, hot air ballooning, white water rafting, skiing, antiquing, exploring historical sites, touring West Virginia Wesleyan College Campus, and visiting West Virginia's outstanding Wildlife Center are choices for the more adventuresome.
